Concertgoers are greeted warmly by volunteers with experience with autism and related challenges. Each child is given a plush toy to hold and keep. Ambient music is playing softly in the bright and airy concert space so that people can adjust to the sonic environment. There is lots of movement and dancing with scarves and boas and some children even improvise at the piano with the musicians! Expert volunteers help with any special requests and guide audience members to a safe, quiet space if a break is needed. At the end of the concert, the children can "play" instruments at the instrumental "petting zoo." AZURE CONCERTS ARE APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR IN LENGTH.
BALTIMORE HEBREW CONGREGATION IS ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, WITH ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCES, REST ROOMS AND PARKING.
